Charlton could sign Paul Pogba's brother Florentin this month with the Addicks considering a move for the free agent.

Florentin is without a club after MLS side Atlanta United opted not to renew his contract for the 2020 season.

Now, the 29-year-old defender could be plying his trade in the Championship and is currently training with Charlton's Under-23 squad, according to the South London Press.

Six years younger than his brother, Florentin has already played French clubs Sedan-Ardennes and Saint-Etienne, and has also had a brief spell at Turkish Super Lig side Genclerbirligi.

He made 22 appearances in all competitions for Atlanta, and has already recorded 21 caps for Guinea, the country of his birth.

The two Pogba brothers famously played against each other in 2017, during Manchester United's successful Europa League campaign.

Florentin was playing for Saint-Etienne at the time, and came up against his World Cup-winning brother in the round of 32.

Charlton manager Lee Bowyer said only last week of his willingness to bring players in this month.

'We're all working hard to make deals happen. We all recognise that we need players in because we are two down on our loans.

'I was sitting at home yesterday and we're all on the phone. We're trying but it is difficult in January, whatever way you want to look at it, it's tough.'
