Germany vs Armenia
Germany would begin the current international break on Thursday evening with a clash against Liechtenstein.
Liechtenstein would begin the day sat dead bottom of their World Cup qualifying group having lost their opening three ties whilst scoring just once and conceding 10 goals.
So, a Germany victory was widely precited on Thursday, and that is exactly what happened thanks to strikes from Timo Werner and Leroy Sane.
Germany are now set to face off with Armenia on Sunday evening in a tie that is actually of huge importance.
Germany head into the game sat 2nd in their qualifying group one point behind current leaders, Armenia.
Hansi Flick’s side are also currently just two points above 3rd place North Macedonia, meaning they need to win tonight to ensure they stay in the qualification spots.
Kai Havertz a doubt to face Armenia
They may be forced to face the current Group J leaders without one of their key attackers, however.
Kai Havertz would start in the win over Liechtenstein on Thursday but would be taken off after 60 minutes.
And now, as per German outlet Kicker:
Kai Havertz may be missing in the second appearance under national coach Hansi Flick against Armenia on Sunday
It is added that Havertz is currently struggling with a flu-like infection which caused him to miss training on Saturday.
There is no mention of Covid-19 in the report from Kicker:
