Chelsea injury news: Benoit Badiashile has been out of action for three months with injury as the Blues prepare to welcome him back in the coming weeks

Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile has sent a positive update on his fitness as he continues to recover from a lengthy injury that has seen him out of action since May.

Having come into the side and made an immediate impact, starting ten of the 18 games he was available for following a January arrival from Monaco for around £35million, he was a big miss towards the end of the campaign and Chelsea failed to win any of the three matches without him.

In total the Blues lost just one of his 11 appearances, winning four of those in their worst campaign for over 20 years. Without his presence at the back they fell to defeat in eight ten games he didn't play in.

However, in a boost for the rest of the season, he has made yet another step towards getting back out onto the field. In a post on Twitter, Badiashile put up to images of himself at Cobham and once more outdoors on the grass. With a ball at his feet in one of the pictures, it is evidence of his move towards fitness.

Both of the French international players will be watching on during the early weeks of the campaign, unable to influence proceedings, but Badiashile is targetting some gametime before the end of September and reports suggest he could even make the home clash with Luton August 25.
