Who is Sasa Kalajdzic?

Kalajdzic joined Stuttgart in 2019, after departing his home country of Austria.

The German outfit are believed to have paid less than 3 million pounds to land the hitman, which has since proven quite the bargain.

In 33 Bundesliga outings this past season, the 23-year-old would score 16 goals, as well as providing six assists.

Kalajdzic, whose current contract runs until 2023, also recently earned his first international call-up, before making his debut for Austria in October of 2020.

Chelsea-linked Kalajdzic speaks out

His impressive 2020/21 would see Kalajdzic linked with the Premier League earlier this year.

West Ham, who currently only really have Michail Antonio as a viable striking option, were credited with an interest in him.

Now, in more recent weeks, a more high-profile Premier League outfit are said to have been looking at the Austrian.

It was claimed that Chelsea could make a move for the towering forward if they do not land Erling Haaland this summer.

And now, Kalajdzic has responded to the recent transfer speculation surrounding himself. And whilst he did say he could imagine extending his contract with Stuttgart, he also suggested he would be open to a move if the right one came along:

‘Of course I can imagine extending my contract, but that would also have to fit. It’s not just me who decides that; it’s also decided by others.

‘Something would have to come along that would just fit, and then we’ll see. If there’s something that really impresses me, where I say I want to do that, then I’ll do it.

‘I am relaxed. I don’t really think about it much. I’m just here right now, having fun with my friends and trying to prepare for every single training session.’
