The character of Chelsea new boy Joao Felix has been called into question, with former Spain goalkeeper Santiago Canizares saying the Portugal star 'isn't humble enough.'
Felix, 23, completed his £11million half-season loan move to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday having passed a medical, with the club excitedly tweeting: 'The artist has arrived'.
Chelsea manager Graham Potter will hope Felix can add a sprinkling of stardust to an underachieving side that currently sits 10th in the Premier League table.
But the player's attitude has been panned by the ex-Real Madrid and Valencia keeper turned pundit Canizares, who says Atletico Madrid aren't at all to blame for Felix flopping there.
Atletico paid £113m to sign Felix from Benfica in July 2019 and it remains the fourth-highest sum ever paid for a footballer.
But Felix has failed to hit the heights expected, scoring 34 goals and contributing 18 assists in 131 outings for the club, amid a strained relationship with coach Diego Simeone.
'The club is not to blame for anything about Joao Felix,' Canizares told Radio Marca.
'On the contrary - they placed a trust in him that perhaps he did not deserve, he was hired for a fortune. He has talent, but he has to change his personality.
'He is the most affected because the club paid an amount that perhaps was for more established players.'
On whether Simeone was partially to blame for not getting the best from Felix, Canizares added: 'He is partly to blame for not being able to exploit him.
'But the most important thing a coach can count on is the player's will and the player has never ben humble enough to overcome difficult moments within the club.
'When he has not seen himself starting, he has twisted his nose; when he has seen that he is not the leader of the team, he has not taken a step forward.'
Chelsea and Potter will hope Felix will be more enthusiastic about playing for them, especially following a dismal run of just two wins in nine matches across all competitions.
The Blues beat Manchester United and Arsenal to his signature and will foot a wage bill amounting to £5.3m during Felix's time in west London.
His influencer girlfriend Margardia Corceiro posted an Instagram image of herself on a private jet heading to London on Tuesday.
It has been reported that the loan will not include the option to buy Felix at the end of the season if he impresses.
His current deal at Atletico expires in 2026 but the Spanish club reportedly wish to extend it to 2027 to 'reduce the annual amortisation and balance their accounts.'
That could potentially make it more difficult for Chelsea, or anyone else, to sign him permanently in the summer.
Felix has been inconsistent in Atletico colours this season, scoring four goals and providing three assists in 14 LaLiga appearances.
He will need to find his goalscoring touch because Chelsea have managed just three goals in their last eight games with the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Kai Havertz out of sorts.
