Chelsea's underfire stars issued a rallying cry during a training ground heart-to-heart on Tuesday in a bid to revive their flagging season.
Maurizio Sarri is fighting to save his job following a run of three defeats in six games, culminating in Sunday’s embarrassing 6-0 loss against Manchester City.
The team held a brief meeting at the club’s Cobham HQ on Monday but there was another gathering on Tuesday as they prepare for Thursday's crucial Europa League clash away at Malmo.
Sarri routinely holds meetings with his players, but Tuesday's was used as an opportunity to ensure the squad do not dwell on what has been a turbulent few weeks.
With crucial fixtures in Europe, the Premier League, FA Cup and a Carabao Cup final against Manchester City on the horizon, players have been urged not to let disappointments of the last few weeks affect their focus ahead of what will be a pivotal fortnight.
While they acknowledge the crushing loss to Pep Guardiola’s side was unacceptable, there is also a feeling that City are significantly stronger than them.
But, despite concerns from within the squad about Sarri’s tactics, the players used the opportunity to help kickstart the club’s season.
On Monday, those players involved in the humiliating loss at the Etihad Stadium completed a light session.
However, the substitutes from the Etihad and unused squad players, in front of Sarri, participated in a training ground game against a Chelsea’s academy team, which ended in a 3-3 draw.
