Chelsea are set to continue their backroom staff revamp and appoint AS Monaco technical director Laurence Stewart, according to a report.
New owner Todd Boehly, who took over the club from Roman Abramovic earlier this year, has made his intentions to reshape the hierarchy at the club clear, and the appointment of Stewart will signal another step in that direction.
According to The Athletic, an agreement has been reached between the clubs and with Stewart for him to move to London.
Stewart, from England, has previously worked with the Red Bull network, RB Leipzig, Manchester City, and the FA.
Boehly has also previously spoken of his desire to implement a multi-club structure at Chelsea, which Stewart has been involved in at Monaco with Belgian side Cercle Bruges.
The restructuring of the club is already well underway, with director Marina Granovskaia and technical advisor Petr Cech leaving their roles when Boehly took over in May.
The Blues are set to appoint Christopher Vivell as their new technical director, who will take up the role after Red Bull Salzburg’s Christoph Freund rejected an approach.
Joe Shields of Southampton is also set to join the club as director of recruitment.
Changes have been made in the footballing department too, with former manager Thomas Tuchel sacked earlier this season and replaced with Graham Potter.
Chelsea spent over £250million on players in the summer, including Wesley Fofana and Raheem Sterling, which was overseen by Boehly himself and co-owners Behdad Eghbali and Jose E. Feliciano.
Chelsea are currently fifth in the Premier League table and are unbeaten under Potter, and face RB Salzburg in the Champions League on Tuesday before a league fixture at Brighton on Saturday.
