Mauricio Pochettino will reportedly have the power to veto a permanent deal for Joao Felix should he be named as Graham Potter's permanent successor.

Co-controlling owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali are working on securing their new manager with owner Tottenham boss Pochettino the frontrunner following a three-week search.

Pochettino, who has been out of work since being sacked by Paris Saint Germain last summer, spent Monday in talks which have reached an advanced stage.

And The Express report he would be given an immediate say on transfer dealings.

One of those dealings would be the future of Joao Felix, who joined the club on a six-month loan for £9.7m in January with no option to buy.

He has scored just twice in 15 appearances but his all round play has endeared him to Blues fans and owner Boehly.

The London club would need to stump up somewhere in the region of £70m to keep Felix at Stamford Bridge.

The Portuguese is said to be enjoying life in his new surroundings and does not wish to return to play under Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid.

However, Pochettino will reportedly have a 'key' role in any decision, with the Argentine set to advise Chelsea on their squad management
