Chelsea transfer round-up: Erling Haaland 'funds released' as three players face the axe

Chelsea are ready to ramp up their transfer business now that Euro 2020 is over.

There are plenty of options that Thomas Tuchel has been eyeing as he looks to sign his first player since arriving as manager in January.

In his short time in charge, he has won the Champions League in a marvellous effort but the work starts again over the new season.

One of the main priorities is the arrival of a striker with Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland top of the wish list but he is proving difficult to prise away from the Bundesliga outfit.

Here are the latest Chelsea transfer rumours and gossip.

Roman Abramovich releases the funds

Chelsea have been told it will cost around £150m to sign Haaland this summer as interest in the 41-goal striker grows.

And according to BILD, Blues owner Abramovich has released the funds necessary to land the Norway international.

They insist the Russian billionaire is prepared to bankroll Tuchel's dream transfer after a fine start to his life as Chelsea manager.

However, in doing so, it also spells the end for three players...

Triple Chelsea exodus

In order to fund a move for a Haaland, Chelsea are prepared to sell Callum Hudson-Odoi, Hakim Ziyech and Tammy Abraham.

That is according to the same BILD report while stating that the Blues can make around £90m from these sales.

Abraham appears to be the most likely to leave, which would leave Chelsea with just Timo Werner as their only striker.

While Ziyech only joined last summer as Hudson-Odoi penned a new contract recently too.

It has been a tough first season for the Morocco international, though he did score vital goals against Manchester City and Atletico Madrid.

And Hudson-Odoi's future is even more concerning to Chelsea fans, who see him as an important part of the club's future.

Wayne Hennessey interest

After his release from Crystal Palace, Chelsea are looking to complete a deal for free agent Hennessey.

It comes after the loss of Willy Caballero as the Blues third-choice goalkeeper while Kepa Arrizabalaga has also had his future discussed.

According to BBC Sport, Hennessey is on Chelsea's wish list to fulfil the vacant slot, as well as Aston Villa's.

Jorginho's agent explains future

Jorginho's agent Joao Santos appears to be backtracking on his client's transfer stance already following his role in Italy's Euro 2020 win.

According to a report from The Sun, Santos confirmed that Serie A giants Juventus were among a group of several top clubs to make contact regarding his availability.

In quotes carried by Calciomercato, Santos said: "I confirm it, these interests have arrived.

"Of course, at 29 he can do very well in all the top European clubs and many are interested in him."

The Stamford Bridge outfit are yet to make a first-team transfer this summer while there is also interest in the likes of Declan Rice and Romelu Lukaku.
