Chelsea transfer news as former Blues defender Frank Leboeuf hands Christian Pulisic advice on his future amid growing speculation surrounding his future
Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf has told Christian Pulisic to join Juventus should he get the chance to do so. The USMNT star is expected to depart the Blues in the summer ahead of the expiry of his contract next year.
The Serie A giants are currently leading the race for the USMNT star's signature, with Manchester United and Newcastle all monitoring Pulisic's situation. A report from ESPN has claimed Chelsea will consider offers in the region of £20m as part of their plans to trim the senior squad.
With Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke ahead of him in Mauricio Pochettino's squad next season, Pulisic is all-but-certain to end his time in England. And Leboeuf has advised the former Borussia Dortmund man to move to Italy.
"He had problems at Dortmund. He came to Chelsea and had quite a good start, but after that, it was so-so," he told ESPN. “I think he’s very lucky to go to Juventus. If he has the possibility to go there, go there! I’m not sure I would take that choice if I were the chairman of Juventus."
Juventus must overcome a big hurdle in convincing Pulisic to move to Turin. The Old Lady won't compete in the Champions League next season, unlike Napoli, Galatasaray and Man United.
The USMNT ace has recently admitted his admiration for the tournament and featuring in the competition could be a vital selling point in his decision making.
