Manchester City have emerged as the favourites to sign Lionel Messi if he does leave Barcelona and he could even be joined by his former teammate Neymar.
The two South American superstars formed a deadly strike partnership at Barcelona between the Brazilian's arrival in 2013 and departure in 2017, with Luis Suarez adding even more firepower to that legendary MSN front line.
Now, there could be a reunion of Messi and Neymar at the Etihad.
That's according to ESPN Brazil's Jorge Nicola, who has reported that Messi phoned Neymar to discuss his plans to leave the Camp Nou.
Messi reportedly told Neymar that he was going to Manchester City, leaving the door open for the 28-year-old to potentially join him in an NBA-esque project.
Neymar is currently enjoying his best spell at Paris Saint-Germain, though, and it's not known if he'd be keen on the idea of reuniting with Messi in England.
