Coventry goalkeeper Lee Burge has got cold feet about returning to watch ice hockey after being hit on the head by a puck.

He was struck while he watched Coventry Blaze's match with Sheffield Steelers on Sunday.

He reportedly needed hospital treatment following the incident but has been pictured training with the Sky Blues on Monday, with a bandaged head.

The Steelers, who lost the Elite League game 5-2 at the Skydome Arena, tweeted: 'The club passes on their best wishes to Coventry City goalie Lee Burge who took a nasty blow to the face sat in the crowd last night.

'These fluke incidents do happen at games and we're sorry it was you in the firing line. Get well soon Lee.'

Burge, 25, also tweeted after the incident at the weekend, joking: 'Won't be going there again.'

The goalkeeper had impressed in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Sunderland and will be assessed ahead of Tuesday's visit of League One leaders Portsmouth. Liam O'Brien is on standby to face his former club should Burge fail to make it.
