Peter Crouch has opened up about his career from growing up as a Chelsea fan and talks about the shirt he always wanted but never had.
The former England international was going through his old shirts with BT Sport.
'He took me to Chelsea as a kid. I was named Peter after Peter Osgood believe it or not.
'This is when Chelsea went a bit more up market with some of the signings. Glen Hoddle came.
'I remember when he came as player-manager. He started to play as a sweeper and he was one of the best players I have ever seen.
'I remember when he signed Ruud Gullit. As soon as I saw this kit, I knew it was Gullit. It's disgusting to be quite honest!'
Crouch said: 'I had this shirt. Italia 90. I would have had eight on the back If I'm honest because it was Gazza in his hay day.
'I actually wanted the shellsuit. The 1990 shellsuit. I asked for it for Christmas and I never got it. The 1990 World Cup, I was already into football, but I was cemented, I was gone after that [tournament].
'What I would have given to have had this [shellsuit when I was younger]. My mum and dad couldn't find it anywhere. I am actually quite emotional.'
Crouch played for Portsmouth during two different spells and was shown a shirt with a very traditional sponsor.
The 38-year-old said: 'Things have moved on from Bihsops Printers! This was one of my favourite times.
'When I was at QPR I was still living with my mum, I rode my bike to training. It was like I grew up when I went here and then Harry came in and took over and ended up selling me.
Crouch spent three years at Liverpool and he believed that time was the best moment of his career.
Looking at a Liverpool shirt he wore, Crouch said: 'This is probably my favourite. This was when I was in my prime.
'Every day I went into game in this kit I just felt like I was going to score. Between 2006 and 2010 those were the best years of my career.
Crouch said: 'I don't think I have seen an away stand go that mental as that day.
'There wasn't one person who wasn't losing the plot. I still get people talking to me about that game. I am getting goosebumps thinking about it now.'
The retired footballer said:'My England debut was in America, and there were two games out there.
'I was supposed to start in the first game and I got injured. I played the second one and I thought I was going to be a one-cap wonder.
'There were a few new faces, I thought I just had to get two caps. Thankfully I ended up on 42 caps. '
