Vicente Guaita has signed a new two-year contract with Crystal Palace, ending speculation he could move to LaLiga.
His deal runs until June 2023 with the option to extend for a further year, extending his stay at the club by potentially three seasons.
With his previous contract expiring this summer, clubs outside England could start negotiating to sign him on a pre-contract agreement which would see him move on a free from the beginning of January.
As Sportsmail stated on Saturday, there were reports Spanish side Real Sociedad, challenging for the European places, were keen to sign the stopper.
The 34-year-old was apparently keen to return to his homeland, rejecting interest from two other clubs to move back to Spain.
But Guaita, who has made 80 appearances for Crystal Palace since signing from Getafe on a free in summer 2018, will be staying at SE25 for the foreseeable future.
He told the Eagles website: 'I am so happy to extend my time at Crystal Palace with my contract until 2023.
'My family is really settled here in south London, and I have enjoyed my time with [manager] Roy [Hodgson], Deano [goalkeeping coach Dean Kiely], all the coaches, and my teammates playing in the Premier League, and have a great relationship with the fans of Crystal Palace.'
Chairman Steve Parish added: 'I am delighted that Vicente has committed his future to Crystal Palace.
'He is an extremely talented goalkeeper whose contribution has been invaluable over the last few seasons and I am sure will continue to be so in the upcoming months and years.'
There may be other outgoings at the club, however, with left back Patrick van Aanholt - also out of contract this summer - being considered by Arsenal.
Striker Christian Benteke, also with just a few months remaining on his deal, has been linked with Serie A sides Parma, Fiorentina and Sam Allardyce's West Bromwich Albion.
