According to Matt Woosnam of The Athletic, despite Crystal Palace's humiliating 5-0 away defeat to Brighton in Sunday's Premier League match, the club currently has no immediate plans to dismiss head coach Oliver Glasner. Instead, they are prepared to give the English manager more time to prove himself. However, Glasner's position remains under immense pressure, and if the team fails to show significant improvement in the upcoming matches, club chairman Steve Parish may take action.

Under the current plan, Glasner is expected to continue leading the team for Thursday's Europa League away match against Beşiktaş and Sunday's home Premier League fixture against Newcastle United.
Crystal Palace management remains highly concerned about the team's defensive performance. The team has already conceded 17 goals in the first 7 Premier League matches of the season. However, the club also believes that the team has not yet entered a state of complete collapse, as they still sit 14th in the league with 7 points.
Nevertheless, Glasner's coaching performance continues to be closely scrutinized. Chairman Parish is prepared to take further action if the team does not show progress in the upcoming games.
Specifically, if Crystal Palace suffers another heavy defeat in Thursday's Europa League away match against Beşiktaş, the club may be forced to re-evaluate whether to continue trusting Glasner.
However, Crystal Palace's preferred option at the moment remains to keep Glasner in charge, hoping he can find a solution to the team's defensive issues and stabilize their overall performance.
Glasner is scheduled to meet with the club's sporting department on Monday to discuss the team's recent defensive problems and analyze the 5-0 loss to Brighton in detail.
Due to a very busy schedule, with Crystal Palace playing 9 matches in 28 days, the players will have a scheduled day off on Monday.
In fact, as early as September this year, Parish discussed Glasner's coaching situation in an interview with The Athletic.
Parish stated at the time: "All of us remain on high alert."
However, he also admitted that Crystal Palace had undergone significant personnel changes recently.
In the summer, Marc Guéhi transferred to Manchester City. Subsequently, another centre-back, Maxence Lacroix, was sold to Chelsea. At the same time, Crystal Palace signed 11 new players in the summer transfer window, and Glasner needs time to help these players integrate into the team.
It is understood that Glasner has good relationships within the club, and many, including players, like the manager.
Furthermore, some within the club believe that Glasner's current difficulties are due to certain objective reasons.
Due to injuries to Riagth and Takehiro Tomiyasu, combined with Axel Disasi receiving a red card and a three-match suspension in the 3-2 loss to Ipswich, Glasner has been unable to field a stable three-man central defence.
Glasner, 51, previously coached Nice, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Wolfsburg, earning recognition for his excellent coaching performance. Crystal Palace appointed Glasner as head coach in June.
However, after the 5-0 defeat to Brighton on Sunday, Glasner himself admitted he was unsure if he would continue to have the club's trust.
When asked if he still had a chance to turn the team's current situation around, Glasner replied: "I don't know."
He then apologized to the fans: "I just want to apologize to the fans. Considering the rivalry between us and Brighton, representing the club with such a performance is completely abnormal, and we did not meet expectations. I am truly very sorry because I know how important this match is to the fans."
"Today, we did not show that this match was equally important to us. We did not truly understand the context of this game."
Regarding his work ethic, Glasner said: "I will always give my all. When the team loses, I get very frustrated, but I always learn from failures and try to change things. Even when the team wins, I maintain the same attitude because I know we can still improve."
On the other hand, if Crystal Palace ultimately decides to sack Glasner, there is still uncertainty about who would replace him.
During the summer transfer window, Crystal Palace underwent a major squad overhaul with the aim of adopting a more progressive playing style.
Therefore, the club is reluctant to easily abandon this established direction. This is one reason why Crystal Palace is currently inclined to give Glasner more time rather than making an immediate change of manager.
