Marseille new boy Michael Cuisance has denied a failed medical sparked the collapse of a £18million move to Leeds from Bayern Munich.
The 21-year-old midfielder had travelled over from Germany last week after the clubs agreed a fee, one that included a buy-back clause for the European champions.
However, Leeds called a halt to proceedings after medical tests raised concerns about a previous injury.
Cuisance subsequently agreed to join Marseille on a season-long loan deal.
During his presentation on Wednesday, the Frenchman insisted that medical issues were not behind the failed move.
'There was no problem with the medical, the one with Marseille went very well, I am in form and ready to play,' Cuisance told goal.com.
'At Leeds, there was no problem from my side.'
Marseille Head of Football Pablo Longoria echoed his new charge's assertions, stating: 'We did not find any issues with his medical, everything was done properly. He is completely available, at 100 per cent.'
It is understood Leeds believed it would have taken some time for Cuisance to recover and get up to the fitness required for Marcelo Bielsa's standards.
The Premier League side ultimately decided it would be best to cancel the transfer and pursue other targets.
