Dani Ceballos has joined up with the Arsenal team for a training session for the first time since joining the club on Thursday.

The Spaniard arrived on loan from Real Madrid this week, with the combination of his wages and loan fee coming to £15million.

Unai Emery sees Ceballos as the man to improve their midfield, and will be happy to have pipped rivals Tottenham to his signature.

'We're excited to see Dani join us. He is a talented player with big technical ability, creativity and precision,' said Emery of his new midfielder when he was revealed on Thursday afternoon.

Ceballos recently revealed that the late Jose Antonio Reyes was a big reason why he decided to join Arsenal.

He says the former Arsenal player, who tragically died in a car crash this year, was his 'childhood idol.' He spoke to Reyes' father before coming to the club.

Ceballos also gets on well with full-back Hector Bellerin, who was another factor in his decision to join.

His one-year loan deal might be short-lived though, as Real Madrid have not included a chance to sign the 22-year-old permanently in the loan deal.

Arsenal are currently back in England as they prepare for the start of the Premier League season.

So far in the pre-season they have defeated Colorado Rapids, Bayern Munich and Fiorentina, before losing on penalties to Real Madrid in midweek.

They face Lyon on Sunday in the Emirates Cup final, before facing Angers, and then Barcelona the following week in the Joan Gamper Trophy final.

Arsenal's first game of the Premier League season will be against Newcastle at St. James' Park on August 11.
