Davinson Sanchez to face no further action for kicking out at Koscielny

Tottenham centre back Davinson Sanchez will not face retrospective punishment from the FA for kicking out at Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny in north London derby stalemate on Saturday afternoon.

Television cameras caught the Colombian defender pushing away Koscielny's leg using his studs while both players laid on the ground at Wembley.

It came amid a controversial game in which referee Anthony Taylor was criticised for both the penalties he awarded and for not spotting Jan Vertonghen’s encroachment into the penalty area which should have seen Arsenal’s missed spot kick retaken.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery said: ‘VAR is coming to help the referees. Today the referees had a big personality but it’s not enough to make the best decision in those difficult actions in the box.

‘VAR is coming to help them and it will be fair in a match like today’s.

‘Mistakes can come because it’s very difficult for them to watch one action. VAR will help them for these decisions and I think it’s positive for football.’
