According to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli midfielder Kevin De Bruyne discussed the team's current situation, head coach Massimiliano Allegri, former coach Antonio Conte, the Serie A title race, and his own future in an interview.
Comparing Allegri and Conte, De Bruyne said: "Things are simpler with Allegri. Conte didn't invest as much in interpersonal relationships; he was stricter. You can't build close relationships with everyone."
Regarding Napoli's potential acquisition of his former Manchester City teammate Gabriel Jesus, De Bruyne stated: "Gabriel Jesus knows how to win titles. If he comes here, he will bring more quality to our attack."
When discussing the Serie A title race for the new season, De Bruyne believes Napoli is competitive, but Internazionale remains the biggest favorite: "We are certainly in the running for the title, but Internazionale are the favorites."
Regarding his future, De Bruyne denied previous rumors about his desire to leave Napoli: "I never said this summer that I wanted to leave Napoli."
At the same time, he confirmed that he has no plans to retire from the national team: "I will continue to play for the Belgian national team."
De Bruyne also addressed the controversy surrounding Napoli's goal in the previous match against Genoa. When asked whether his physical contact with Vázquez constituted a foul, he replied: "Fifty-fifty."
