Kevin De Bruyne signed autographs on his way to Manchester City training on the eve of Saturday's Premier League clash with Liverpool.

The Belgian playmaker stopped his car outside the club's Etihad training base and was seen borrowing a pen before scribbling his name for a fan.

De Bruyne returned to first-team training on Monday after being sidelined with knee ligament damage since mid-August.

But he is not expected to feature against Liverpool, after City boss Pep Guardiola admitted he will be cautious with his star man.

Speaking earlier this week, Guardiola said: 'Today was his first training session back with the team so we will see when he's ready to play.'

Another player who is set to miss Saturday's trip to Anfield is Benjamin Mendy, but the French left back was still present at training, having arrived in the passenger seat of a Mercedes-Benz.

City goalkeeper Ederson rocked up in a Lamborghini ahead of his fifth appearance against Liverpool.

Ederson is yet to keep a clean sheet against the Reds. City won 5-0 in his first meeting with the Merseyside giants but the Brazilian was subbed off injured at half-time.

He then conceded nine goals in his next three outings against the Reds as City lost 4-3, 3-0 and 2-1.
