Derby County have opened talks with PSV Eindhoven for Bart Ramselaar, who has been left out of manager Mark van Bommel's first team plans.
The midfielder is free to leave this summer, and may be joining up with former PSV and new Derby boss Phillip Cocu.
Ramselaar enjoyed a good season under Cocu in 2017-18, when PSV won the Dutch Eredivisie title.
However, in 2018-19 when van Bommel took over, Ramselaar only played four games in the league, when PSV lost out on the title to Ajax.
He was once again left out of the squad for PSV's Champions League qualifier against Basel this week, and now Derby have entered talks for his services.
The 23-year-old midfielder models his game after Real Madrid's Isco, and could bring some extra creativity to Derby's midfield.
Ramselaar played has played 76 games for PSV Eindhoven, scoring seven goals and registering six assists.
He joined from FC Utrecht in 2016, where he played 49 times, scoring 10 goals along with eight assists.
Cocu was announced as new Derby manager earlier this month after a meeting with owner Mel Morris which 'lasted hours.'
Morris described Cocu's appointment as a coup and believes the former Barcelona midfielder can have a huge impact on Derby's players.
Morris presented a compelling case for him to succeed Frank Lampard, who gained a cult reputation at Pride Park for bringing through young players and promoting a passing style. Cocu wants to carry that on.
