Liverpool have tabled a £19.5m (€22m) offer for Besiktas star Domagoj Vida.

The Reds are keen to add the Croatia international, who shone at the World Cup alongside Dejan Lovren.

Vida could push Lovren for a starting berth alongside Virgil van Dijk.

But first the Reds must up their offer with the Turkish giants demanding £26.7m (€30m), according to L'Equipe.

Vida enjoyed a fine World Cup as Croatia finished runners-up to France in Russia.

The former Dynamo Kiev star was also involved in a controversial moment though.

Videos online surfaced of Vida celebrating a Croatia victory by singing, 'Glory to Ukraine,' which was seen as potentially inciteful or politically motivated.

The player escaped with a telling off and a warning to his future actions.

Liverpool will face competition for Vida and may have to increase their bid quickly, with West Ham rumoured to have tabled a similar offer.
