Don't stop me now! Aubameyang takes just 37 games to hit 25 EPL goals

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang broke the deadlock against a resolute Cardiff City side on Tuesday night, achieving a piece of history in the process.

The Gabonese striker has been electric in front of goal since joining Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund last January.

And fans were waxing lyrical when it emerged his goal against Cardiff - his 25th in the Premier League - was achieved in just 37 games.

Arsenal have had some high-profile strikers in seasons gone by but none can get close to the profligacy with which Aubameyang has shown so far.

Club legend Thierry Henry is the closest challenger to Aubameyang as he hit 25 league goals after 42 games.

Others took far more time to find their feet.

Emmanuel Adebayor took 62 games, Alexis Sanchez took 59 games and Ian Wright shaded the Chilean, completing it in 51 matches.

While Arsenal will not be challenging for major honours domestically this season having been knocked out of the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and in a battle for a top four spot in the league, Aubameyang is eyeing some individual silverware.

In a tussle with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, the former Dortmund striker is a strong favourite to finish the season with the Premier League golden boot.

The Egyptian, who will take on Leicester at Anfield on Wednesday, has 16 league goals to Aubameyang's 15 so far.
