Borussia Dortmund are hoping to sign highly-rated Tottenham youngster Troy Parrott ahead of arch-rivals Bayern Munich next summer.
Sportsmail had previously reported that the 17-year-old was the latest Premier League starlet to be monitored by a European giant, with the reigning Bundesliga champions believed to be keeping a keen eye on Parrott's progress this season.
And it is now understood that Lucien Favre's side have entered the transfer tussle, and will go head to head with Juventus and Real Madrid to snap up the coveted youngster.
Tottenham had bought Parrott as a schoolboy from Irish side Belvedere two years ago, and handed him his maiden first-team appearance against Colchester in the surprise Carabao Cup knockout in September.
The frontman also played a crucial role in the Republic of Ireland's victory against New Zealand earlier this month, after setting up a goal for his nation on his senior international debut.
But despite penning his first professional contract at Tottenham in February, several of Europe's elite clubs are lining up a shock swoop.
After the arrival of new head coach Jose Mourinho, it remains to be seen how often Parrott will be afforded first-team opportunities in the immediate future.
