According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Fenerbahçe has contacted Eerste Divisie club FC Dordrecht regarding inviting head coach Dirk Kuyt to join as the team's assistant coach.
FC Dordrecht general manager Hans de Zeeuw confirmed that both parties are in negotiations regarding Kuyt's future. The former Dutch international and Liverpool legend is currently under contract with FC Dordrecht, and de Zeeuw has expressed dissatisfaction with Fenerbahçe's approach.
De Zeeuw said: "I find it strange that they reached an agreement with the coach first and only then contacted the club. I think the more reasonable approach would be to communicate with FC Dordrecht first, to understand the conditions under which he can leave, and then negotiate with the player or coach. That is the correct order.
"They have already apologized to us for this. Both parties are now in negotiations, but there are still significant differences between them, and we are still far from reaching an agreement."
