Dybala trades pitch for the court and poses with the NBA trophy

Paulo Dybala has used Serie A's winter break to jet over to the United States and get stuck into some elite basketball action.

The Juventus superstar has temporarily swapped the pitch for the court and was in attendance as the Miami Heat took on the Washington Wizards at the American Airlines Arena.

Photographers at the event soon honed in on the Argentine starlet, and Dybala was all too happy to pose for pictures while taking his courtside seat at the clash.

The 25-year-old was later invited to get up close and personal with a set of Larry O'Brien NBA Championship trophies, holding them aloft while photos were taken.

A personalised Miami Heat shirt was also provided for the player and left hanging in the dressing room.

Dybala's No 10 was emblazoned on the back, and the player wasted no time in putting it on before the match got under way.

Dybala and Juve concluded their football prior to the winter break on a high, cementing themselves as favourites to retain the Italian title by going nine points clear of second place rivals Napoli.

Juve are yet to lose a domestic fixture all season and have been equally as impressive in the Champions League.

They face Spanish giants Atletico Madrid in the last 16 of the competition, in a clash which will see talisman Cristiano Ronaldo return to the Spanish capital.

Ronaldo has been a revelation in Italy and recently suggested the players are happy for their team-mate's success – unlike in Madrid.

'The players here are humble and they work very hard. It's been fantastic. This is the best group I've ever played with,' said Ronaldo.

'At Juventus we really feel like a team, unlike elsewhere where some players feel like they are better than others.

'Here everyone is humble, if Dybala or [Mario] Mandzukic don't score you see still see them happy. That is beautiful.'
