Ederson has achieved the rare and unusual feat of becoming the goalkeeper with the shortest ever betting odds to score in a Premier League match.
The Brazilian is famed for his ability with the ball at his feet and Pep Guardiola has revealed his talent for taking penalties.
Guardiola hinted he could entrust Ederson with spot-kick duties after Gabriel Jesus missed from 12 yards against Sheffield United.
Jesus is the third City player to miss a penalty this season following Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling earlier this term.
'Ederson is the best,' said Guardiola. 'Believe me, Eddie is the best taker we have on the penalties. He has no blood in his brains, he's so calm, so he could do it.'
Guardiola's endorsement of Ederson's penalty taking skills have seen the odds of him scoring a goal this season slashed to 4/1 with SportNation.
The 26-year-old is also available at slightly longer odds of 8/1 to take City's next penalty ahead of their FA Cup fourth round clash with Fulham this weekend.
Ederson has already scored a penalty in his career, albeit in a charity match in Brazil back in 2019, while Jesus was on the pitch.
