Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has revealed how rejection from clubs as a teenager almost made him turn his back on football.

The Brazilian has gone on to become one of the finest players in his position in the world but it was not always so straight forward in his formative years.
And it was one particular rejection, that of Sao Paulo back home in Brazil, that left him 'depressed' and considering whether to hang up his goalkeeping gloves for good.
'It was a difficult situation,' Ederson revealed in an interview with the Mirror.
'I was only 15 years old and I went through a tough moment, spent one month depressed and was thinking of quitting.
'Luckily, my parents supported me and encouraged me to go back to playing.'
