Edu backs Arsenal to knockout Kane's Bayern and go all the way in the UCL final

Arsenal believe they can win their first Champions League trophy despite drawing familiar foes Bayern Munich and Harry Kane in the quarter-finals — with Real Madrid or Manchester City lying in wait in the semis.

A tantalising draw sees the Gunners pitted against six-time winners Bayern — with the first leg at the Emirates Stadium on April 9 — while reigning champions City meet Real in the knockout stages for a third straight season.

Wins for both would set up an all-English semi-final. Asked if Arsenal can go all the way, sporting director Edu said: ‘Why not? We have to dream because of the way we are playing and the momentum we have.

'This is the position we have to always be in because of the size of the club. We’re back where we belong.’

Arsenal were humiliated 10-2 on aggregate in their last tie with Bayern in 2017.

England ace Kane moved to the German champions from Tottenham last summer and has scored 36 goals in 34 appearances. Against Arsenal, the ex-Spurs man scored 14 goals in 19 matches.

In the Europa League draw, Liverpool were paired with Atalanta, while West Ham face Bayer Leverkusen. Aston Villa were drawn against Lille in the Europa Conference League last eight.
