Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has spoken to the press as he prepares to face Bologna in the Europa League.

Emery will welcome Bologna to Villa Park in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie following their 1-3 victory in Emilia-Romagna against Bologna last Thursday.

Since losing 1-0 at Villa Park in September, Bologna have actually won all five away matches in Europe which may worry the Premier League side who are in their third European Quarter Final in the last three seasons.

How crucial is the first goal?

Speaking first on whether the first goal is crucial tomorrow night, Emery says his side have a game plan and must stand by it or risk collapsing against the Italian side.

"Maybe not, if we are not scoring or they are not scoring!

"We are ready to start winning or to start losing. We are ready.

"I expect the players as well they have my message and keep the game plan tomorrow, extending the first leg we played.

"Of course, how we scored the first goal was really fantastic and important but they can score one goal in one moment and we must be ready for everything."

The tie is not over yet!

The win over Bologna made it eight wins on the spin in the Europa League for Emery’s men and 10 victories out of 11 overall this campaign.

However, despite confidence being high, Emery admits that the tie is far from over and his side will be just as relentless in the second leg to secure a Semi Final spot.

"We are in the quarter-final second leg. Of course, we have a good result. But watching the experience and watching the coach playing three finals in the last three years, the respect is massive.

"When they were playing against Rome, maybe you could think Rome was the favourite and they beat one of the favourites. How they are competing, how they are as a team, how they are pushing all the matches, of course we make ourselves respectful.

"They are going to play the same match. So aggressive, so intense, getting duels man to man, and attacking us. I respect a lot and I appreciate a lot the performance.

"We have a very good team. When the referee's whistle, the first minute starts, we're going to be focused 100% because we will fight tomorrow more than we did (in the first leg)."
