England players recover in Adriatic Sea and use yoga to unwind

England players have wasted no time in preparing for Monday's game against Spain as they took part in a day of recovery on Saturday.

Gareth Southgate's squad splashed around in the Adriatic Sea outside their team hotel and then took part in a yoga session following Friday night's goalless draw against Croatia.

The result means the Three Lions have still not won in their UEFA Nations League campaign and travel to Seville to face the in-form Spaniards at Estadio Benito Villamarin still needing three points in their bid to avoid relegation from their group.

England's players began their recovery early on Saturday morning as they made their way down to the beachfront to splash around in the sea.

John Stones and Jordan Pickford were captured joking around in the water while recent debutant Ben Chilwell enjoyed a morning swim alongside team-mates James Maddison and Mason Mount.

Captain Harry Kane continued his goal drought on Friday night and has now not scored in six England games, which is his joint-longest spell without a goal for his country. He also soaked up the morning sun outside their hotel in Novi Vinodolski.

After emerging from the ocean, players then moved inside the hotel and took part in a yoga session.

Joe Gomez, Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho were among those seen performing numerous stretches on mats spread out across the gym section of the hotel.

Sancho became the first player born in 2000 to play for England on Friday night when he came on with 15 minutes to play. The Borussia Dortmund winger relaxed in the indoor pool after the session and will be hopeful of making more of an impact on Monday night.

Kane was quick to sing his praises following the 0-0 draw in Rijeka, but reminded him to keep his focus if he wants to reach his full potential.

'He's great,' Kane said. 'Big congrats to him for his debut today, I thought he came on and made an impact as well. He's been great in training and he has just got to keep working hard and playing games and I'm sure he will have a very bright future.'

There were similar words coming from the mouth of Eric Dier, who came closest to scoring for England when his header hit the post in the first-half. The Tottenham midfielder went as far to describe Sancho's cameo as 'fantastic' before calling him 'very gifted'.
