England and Denmark may be going into battle with each other on Wednesday night, but before kick-off they will unite in support of Christian Eriksen.
The two teams will face off at Wembley in the second Euro 2020 semi-final, with the winner facing the victor of Italy versus Spain from Tuesday's encounter.
But in the moments leading up to kick-off, the England squad will hand over a signed shirt to their Danish counterparts in support of Eriksen after he suffered a cardiac arrest earlier in the tournament.
Three Lions captain Harry Kane will have the honours of presenting the England shirt with Eriksen's name on the back to Denmark skipper Simon Kjaer.
Denmark playmaker Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch during Denmark's opening group stage fixture against Finland on June 12.
The 29-year-old had an cardioverter defibrillator implanted before being discharged from hospital where he is now recovering at home.
Kane and Eriksen were team-mates at Tottenham and the former wishes the latter nothing but all the best in his recovery.
'I spoke to him after what happened to him and wished him well' he told talkSPORT. 'He sent me a quick message back to say he's okay.
'I kind of left him alone. It's been an emotional rollercoaster for not just him but his family as well.
'I'm sure he'll be cheering against me on Wednesday, and rightly so. He will back his country all the way.
'We know that it has united Denmark as a team and pushed them to be where they are now. We can't focus too much on that. We have to focus on ourselves and what we can do.
'Whatever happens, I hope to see to Chris soon and be in contact with him soon. The most important thing is he's well.'
Denmark made it through to the semi-finals with a 2-1 victory against Czech Republic on Saturday night, while England did so by thumping Ukraine 4-0 on the same evening.
Following the Danes' win, Kjaer believes he team spirit among their quad is extremely strong following what occurred with Eriksen.
As reported by Goal, Kjaer said: 'It did something to the group. We thrive and we're safe together. We know we can trust the people around us. We know that if one of us is in trouble, then someone else is there for you.
'It gives us security and of course it makes Christian feel good.
'We can press because we know that the player next to us is there to back us up.'
Kjaer received much praise following Eriksen's collapse as he summoned the medical team to get onto the pitch quickly and he also ensured that Eriksen's airways were unobstructed when he was unconscious.
Furthermore, Kjaer told his team-mates to form a shield around Eriksen while he was being attended to. Denmark lost their opening game 1-0 against Finland and were also beaten 2-1 by Belgium but they managed to progress from their group after beating Russia 4-1.
An impressive 4-0 victory against Wales followed in the last-16 before the win against Czech Republic.
And they will hope to continue their journey with a win over England on Wednesday night.
