Erik Durm set for Huddersfield transfer as Terriers close on Dortmund defender

Borussia Dortmund claim Huddersfield Town are close to signing their World Cup-winning defender Erik Durm.

Durm, 26, was part of Joachim Loew’s victorious squad at Brazil 2014 and played under Town boss David Wagner for Dortmund’s second string.

Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc claims a deal is close after what he calls “far-reaching talks” between Town and the Bundesliga side.

Dortmund want to offload Durm, who has just one year left on his contract, and tried to sell him last summer.

He failed to make Lowe’s squad for Russia, but Wagner feels he would increase the Terriers’ options at left-back.
