Erik Lamela returns as Tottenham train in the rain before Fulham clash

Tottenham trained in the rain on Thursday and they were buoyed by the return of three players ahead of their weekend clash with London rivals Fulham.

Erik Lamela, Josh Onomah and Harry Winks all rejoined their team-mates on the practice pitch after spells on the sidelines through injury.

Lamela picked up a muscle injury on Tottenham's pre-season tour of America, while Winks had been out since February with ankle problems. Both players could be involved from the bench at Wembley on Saturday but Onomah, who is back after recovering from a knee issue, is unlikely to play.

Spurs will be bidding to maintain their 100 per cent start to the season, after beating Newcastle 2-1 on the opening weekend.

Dele Alli and Jan Vertonghen were the scorers against Newcastle and both players looked sharp as they were put through their paces on Thursday.

Spurs will start Saturday's game as heavy favourites to take three points, having beaten Fulham in each of their past three meetings.

Harry Kane has scored four goals in two appearances against the Cottagers.

If Kane can hit the net on Saturday it will end his miserable record in August — he has never scored a goal in the month.
