Erling Haaland's father, Alfie, has claimed his son could stay at Manchester CIty for '15 years' amid talk over the striker's future.

The 22-year-old has only been at the Etihad since the summer but already discussions over his career-path are taking place and suitors are lining up.

The forward has never been one to shy away to questions on his career and, similarly, his father Alfie has given a blunt opinion on his future.

According to the Sun, he said: 'Erling could stay at City for 15 years because he is very happy and we are talking about a huge club.

'But my impression is that he wants to demonstrate that he can win at any of the big leagues. He was in Germany for two-and-a-half years and he could do something like that in his future.

'Staying in the Premier League for three years and then going to Italy, Spain or France. There's nothing firm about it, but it's a possibility because Erling is capable of being a winner in any team.'

The striker has only been in Manchester since his summer arrival from German side Borussia Dortmund - the club where he really made a name for himself.

Haaland is one of the few Premier League stars - along with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah - whose nation did not qualify for the World Cup and thus has been resting.

The striker has been a revelation for Pep Guardiola's side in the league this year and has established himself as a clear front runner to win the golden boot.

He'll be hoping he can add to his 18-goal tally when they face Leeds, in their first Premier League game after the World Cup break, on December 28th.
