Former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas stuck the boot into Tottenham during a question and answer session on social media.

Fabregas, who currently plies his trade at Monaco, launched a Q&A with his fans on Twitter on Tuesday morning.

As well as putting down Spurs he revealed how close he came to joining Manchester United and that the pizza he threw at Sir Alex Ferguson had a pepperoni topping.

The official Twitter account of the Premier League posed the question: 'Of the 50 #PL goals you scored, which was your favourite? #AskCesc.'

Fabregas replied: 'Every goal against Spurs will do.'

He scored two goals against Tottenham during his time in England.

The midfielder was linked with a move to United from Barcelona during David Moyes' tenure at Old Trafford seven years ago.

The 32-year-old was asked about how close he came to making the switch to the Red Devils.

He responded: 'I wouldn't say close but I did talk to David Moyes a couple of times.'

The official Twitter Account of the Sky Sports programme Soccer Am asked: 'What toppings were on the pizza that you launched at Sir Alex Ferguson during the Battle of the Buffet?'

While making an appearance on Sky's A League of Their Own in 2017, Fabregas confirmed he was the Arsenal player who launched a slice of pizza at former United manager Ferguson in the Old Trafford tunnel in 2004.

In response to Soccer Am's question, the Spaniard said: 'Pepperoni,' followed by a laughing crying face emoji as well as a close call emoji.

Fabregas also admitted that Sadio Mane is in his opinion the best player currently in the Premier League.

The former Gunners man signed off the Q&A Tuesday with: 'It's been great chatting with you guys. Should do it more often. Going to get ready for training. Big love for all of you and thank you for all the love you give me and given me during the last 16 years.'
