'Everyone has been magic' - Tierney delighted with life at Arsenal

Kieran Tierney is delighted with his progress at Arsenal as the summer signing continued to build his match fitness with another promising performance in the Europa League.

Tierney signed for Arsenal from Celtic this summer, though the Scotland international joined the Gunners carrying injury problems from last season having undergone a double hernia operation in May.

Speaking to BT Sport after the win over Vitoria, Tierney thanked the Arsenal staff and his new team-mates in helping him overcome his injury troubles and settle into life at the club.

"When you come [to a new side] you don't want to be injured, but everyone has been magic with me," he said. "The manager, the coaches and the other players.

"I've came a long way, I'm delighted to be back fit but I've still got a way to come. I'm developing as player and as a person."

Arsenal were far from their best against Vitoria as they needed two late free-kicks from substitute Nicolas Pepe to seal the win, but Tierney believes the nature of the victory shows the Gunners can also win ugly.

"It showed the other side of our game," he added. "The Standard Liege game was different, we scored four goals and it was comfortable. It shows we've got fight and desire.

"When teams come here the pressure is on us, so it gives them more freedom, the expectation is on us, but we got the three points and that's the main thing."
