David Seaman stormed off the pitch when asked to play against a team of French naturists – all keen to show off their ball skills.
The goalie throws a hissy fit when the plan is revealed by manager Harry Redknapp, 73, for ITV show Harry’s Heroes.
He organised the training game for the former England stars ahead of their grudge match against the Germans.
Seaman, 56, was horrified when confronted by the naked team – fearing that he might hurt them.
Speaking after returning from the European tour, which airs on ITV next week, He said: “I just walked off – I was having none of that.
“It’s funny, I was stood next to Harry and I said ‘if they come out here naked, I’m out’, and he said ‘no way’
“Then they came down these stairs, banging their chests and things flopping everywhere.
“I took my gloves off and said ‘find another goalie’, and walked off. I was worried about injuring them.”
Matt le Tissier was drafted in as a replacement and found the whole situation hilarious. “I think David Seaman’s reaction to the naked football will stay in the memory for a while,” he laughed.
Redknapp, who was helped to get the squad into shape by John Barnes, said the naked players attracted much attention from the female members of the production crew.
“They would all suddenly appear to watch the football, they didn’t seem interested before, and then they were all having a look,” he laughed.
Redknapp said he’d enjoyed making this series even more than the first, which pulled in four million viewers last year.
He said: “The more time I could spend with them, the more enjoyable it was, I just loved every minute of it.
