Former Liverpool player Jon Otsemobor has revealed that his controversial ex-team-mate El-Hadji Diouf turned up at his house at 2am with around ten women for a party on a day that the club had training.

Otsemobor, a defender, was a young player at the time and admits that he felt obliged to go along with what Diouf said.

'When an older pro like that approaches you, you feel obliged,' Otsemobor said.

'I was still a young lad and I was just disappointed thinking he took my friendship and used it. I felt at the time, when I went into the dressing room, you can't just use me like that, I'm your friend.

'If he needed a place to stay and all that, fine, but I'm not hosting parties for all different people who were flying into the country every weekend!'

Diouf played for Liverpool between 2002 and 2005, with Otsemobor involved during the same period, although they both spent time away from the club on loan.

Otsemobor admitted that Diouf could come across as arrogant, but stressed that he didn't have many problems with him.

Former forward Diouf was involved in many controversial incidents throughout his career.

While playing in France for Rennes as a youngster he was involved in a car crash, which led to him undertaking community service.

In 2003, while representing Liverpool, he spat at Celtic fans during a UEFA Cup tie, which led to him receiving a two-match ban from UEFA and a fine of £5,000.

While playing for Bolton he was charged with spitting at a Middlesbrough fan and also spat at Portsmouth's Arjan de Zeeuw.

Diouf was accused of making a racial slur towards a ball-boy when Blackburn faced Everton in 2009, which led to him being questioned by police.

In August 2011 Diouf ended up leaving Blackburn by mutual consent having angered manager Steve Kean by returning late for pre-season training.

The controversy continued thereafter, as in 2012 Diouf was bailed after he and five other men were arrested after reports of a brawl in a nightclub in Manchester.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher previously described Diouf as his worst ever team-mate.

'The worst has to be El Hadji Diouf,' Carragher said.

'Actually, I quite enjoyed playing against him as you could kick him then – can’t kick your own players'.

In his autobiography My Story, Steven Gerrard also offered his thoughts on Diouf, saying that the Senegal international had 'no interest in football'.

'I don't really want to waste time thinking about El-Hadji Diouf but it's worth highlighting his wasted seasons at Liverpool as an example of how it can all go wrong,' Gerrard wrote.

'It seemed to me that Diouf had no real interest in football and that he cared nothing about Liverpool.'
