Nolberto Solano has been arrested after the former Premier League star attended a party during self-isolation lockdown in Peru.
The ex-Newcastle midfielder, who was a fan-favourite during his time in the North East, was caught at a party in the Peruvian district of La Molina in breach of the social isolation rules imposed on the region.
Peruvian outlet Libero reports via Sport Witness that police officers had to scale the walls of the property in order to find the revellers, who refused to open the door at first.
Footage shows the 45-year-old saying to officers: 'No sir, what party?'
Solano was then taken to a local police station and later released by the authorities. He spoke to the media about the incident.
'It was a meeting, not a party, look how I'm dressed. Everyone complains,' he said.
Solano enjoyed two spells at Newcastle during his 19-year career, was accompanied by five others during the incident, including former Peruvian midfielder Pablo Zegarra.
Peru has enforced a lockdown on its citizens in a bid to contain the spread of the deadly coronavirus. The country has 580 reported cases, while nine have died from the disease.
The media who covered the story can be seen wearing face masks as people look to protect themselves from contracting the virus.
The country is currently in a state of emergency and president Martín Vizcarra has said that the government's provisions can be lifted in the next ten days if people respect and obey the self-isolation rules.
