A former Premier League star, once capped for England, has turned to the unlikely route of LinkedIn to try and find his next club after leaving a fifth-tier side in Spain.
The 32-year-old has had a wild career, representing Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics, as well as Premier League spells with Tottenham, Liverpool and QPR.
He has also spent three years with Turkey, and after a short spell as player-coach with Malaga City in Spain's fifth tier, he is now back searching for a new opportunity on the job-hunting platform - and is open to playing on.
Centre-back Steven Caulker wrote on his page: 'LinkedIn family, please work your magic...
'I am looking for a new team ahead of the 2024/2025 season. Preferably as a coach, but I am still open to playing.
'Whilst I am looking for a suitable option, I am keeping myself busy with 1-2-1 coaching, mentoring, and public speaking.'
Caulker's post included a picture of himself in England kit with Roy Hodgson.
Other LinkedIn users responded with roles in the Australian top-flight, the Indian Super League, and Cornwall's Bude Town, in the 10th tier of English football, among countless others.
Caulker added a later comment to his post, noting: 'Thank you all so much for your support! I've had lots of interesting enquiries already, so fingers crossed, one of them leads to an official offer'.
As a player, he started his youth career with Tottenham, but was labelled a 'disgrace' by Daniel Levy, and eventually left the club in 2013 after six years in the Spurs set-up.
Caulker enjoyed spells at Welsh rivals Cardiff and Swansea, as well as QPR, Liverpool and Southampton, before moving to Dundee in the Scottish Premiership in 2018.
Whilst at the Reds, Caulker admitted he was 's****** himself' with panic after being thrown in as a substitute by Jurgen Klopp, having come to the club on loan amid an injury crisis at Anfield, and ended up playing just four games for Liverpool.
In 2019, he joined Turkish Super Lig club Alanyaspor, and went on to play for three more sides in the country, including Fenerbahce.
There was a short spell with Wigan Athletic in 2023, where he used LinkedIn to take a very pointed swipe at the club's owners after they repeatedly failed to pay their players.
He joined up with British-run football club Malaga City in Spain's fifth-tier as a player-coach earlier this year, but is now seeking another adventure due to a lengthy wait for his employment visa.
He scored on his England debut against Sweden - his one and only game for the Three Lions - in 2012, and played all of Great Britain's matches in the Olympics of that year, but changed his international allegiance to Sierra Leone in 2022.
