Former West Brom captain Jake Livermore played as a trialist for Watford in their friendly with Arsenal on Saturday.

Livermore, 33, spent six years with the Baggies, but was named on their released list at the end of the Championship season in May.

Currently unattached, the central midfielder is seeking his next challenge, and was reported to be training at Watford earlier in the week in a bid to keep his fitness up.

Then on Saturday, the former England international took to the field for the Hornets during their behind-closed-doors friendly clash against Arsenal, with The Athletic reporting he came off the bench in a 1-1 draw.

He made his England debut in 2012, and earned seven national caps, with the last one coming in 2017.

Livermore started his career on the books at Tottenham as a youth player, before rising to the senior side. A number of loan moves throughout the years eventually resulted in a permanent move to Hull City in 2014.

After 144 games for Hull, he joined West Brom in January 2017, and racked up over 200 appearances for the club.

Ahead of West Brom's last match of the season against Norwich City, Livermore shared a message with fans confirming his exit from the club, ending the note 'Thank you for everything, truly. Skip.'

Both West Brom and Watford are shaping up for another season in the Championship, after the Baggies finished 9th last term, two places ahead of the Hornets.
