Mohamed Salah rescued Liverpool from a precarious position against Crystal Palace on Saturday, scoring two goals in their thrilling 4-3 win.
The Egyptian brought them level at 1-1 just after half-time before nudging them 3-2 ahead thanks to a major error from Julian Speroni.
But it was before kick-off when Salah made one of his more telling contributions of the afternoon when he waved at a delighted mascot in the Anfield tunnel.
As Salah emerged from the home dressing room, the mascot chanted the Egyptian's song as he came closer towards him.
The Premier League's top goalscorer then gave a little wave to the mascot as he walked by and went to stand with his team-mate before they made their way out onto the pitch.
Goalkeeper Alisson found the mascot’s reaction hilarious and even gave him a pat on the head to share in his delight.
The short clip emerged from a video produced by Liverpool on YouTube and has received a lot of warmth on social media. One fan, @UsmanA_, posted: 'The little child mascot singing the Salah song to Salah in the tunnel. This is so sweet.'
@gate_shankley added: 'This is exactly what football was meant to bring: good examples and happiness to everybody, mainly children.'
Another Liverpool fan, @_AnfieldBound, wrote: 'Absolutely delightful. Best 8 seconds to start any day.'
One Reds supporter posted an emotional-looking GIF but Salah was not the main attraction. It read: '*When Alisson notices and taps his head*'.
