FIFA have unveiled their three-man shortlist for the Best Men's Coach of the year award for 2021.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, Chelsea's Thomas Tuchel and Italy coach Roberto Mancini are up for the gong with the winner announced on January 17.

Guardiola is up for the award after guiding Manchester City to their third Premier League title since he took over as manager back in 2016.

The Spaniard though couldn't guide his side to their first Champions League last year, with Tuchel up for the award after Chelsea beat Manchester City 1-0 in the final.

Mancini makes up the shortlist after he guided Italy to the European Championship last summer, beating England on penalties in the final at Wembley.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp won the award for 2020 after he guided the Reds to their first league title in 30 years.

He received the same amount of votes as then Bayern Munich manager and now Germany boss Hansi Flick - but claimed the award after receiving more votes from national team coaches.

FIFA also announced the contenders for the Best FIFA Women's Coach with Barcelona's Lluis Cortes, Chelsea's Emma Hayes and former Netherlands and current England coach Sarina Wiegman making up the shortlist.

The two awards are voted for by an international jury comprising current managers of all women's/men's national teams, captains of each squad, one specialist journalist from each territory represented by a national team and fans registered on FIFA.com.

On Friday, FIFA will unveil the three nominees for the Best FIFA Women's Player and Best Men's Player awards during a live online event at 3pm Central European Time.

All the winners of the Best FIFA Football Awards will be crowned during a TV show broadcast in Zurich.
