Falke: Trafford is England's most promising goalkeeper and will be England's No. 1 in the future

Falke praised James Trafford's potential after the goalkeeper's steady performance in Leeds United's 0-0 draw with Sunderland.

The goalkeeper made two important saves from Sunderland forward Brian Brobbey in the first half and then thwarted another threat after the break.

James Trafford joined Leeds United from Manchester City this summer for a reported fee of £40 million ($53 million) plus add-ons. Falke was impressed with his performance as Leeds United kept a clean sheet.

Falke said: "I wouldn't say it was an incredible, world-class save, but he made several good saves and once again proved why we were so keen to sign him in the first place."

"Yes, his innate confidence and ability, his presence and belief, also inspire his teammates in front of him. To be honest, I expected this kind of performance from him, and that's why we spent money to sign him."

"I also expect Leeds United's goalkeeper to perform like this in such a difficult away game. I wouldn't ask for anything less than what he delivered today."

"Of course, in my opinion, he is the most promising young goalkeeper in Britain, and he has almost everything it takes to become England's number one goalkeeper one day."

"He shows us this ability every day, every week, but he must keep moving forward and maintain consistency. Again, I expect this performance because he has this potential. Nevertheless, we are all happy to have him."
