Barcelona unveiled Kevin-Prince Boateng as their latest signing - but his capture has been met with bemusement by many fans.
It's fair to say the former Tottenham and Portsmouth midfielder - signed on loan from Sassuolo - does not fit the profile of your usual Barca player, and supporters have not held back in say as much.
Considering recent transfer windows have seen the arrivals of £140million Philippe Coutinho and £135.5million Ousmane Dembele, the former Ghana international may seem rather underwhelming.
One fan claimed that 'Barca's transfer system is broken' while another had'a hard time understanding this.'
On Twitter, one supporter labelled Boateng as 'the new Julien Faubert' in reference to Real Madrid's January 2009 capture of the West Ham winger.
Faubert would make just two appearances in Spain, also managing to miss training by accident and once falling asleep on Real Madrid's bench.
Boateng has himself enjoyed a circuitous route to the top, having started out at Hertha Berlin before moving to Tottenham in 2007.
Just 24 appearances, no goals and two years later, via a loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, he would sign for Portsmouth.
He could not prevent their relegation from the Premier League, but did score five goals and help them to the FA Cup final before leaving for Genoa.
From there, he would take in spells at AC Milan, Schalke, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Las Palmas before moving to Sassuolo last summer.
