Arsenal legend Lee Dixon has made fun out of Tottenham ahead of the first game in their new £1billion stadium.

Spurs open their new 62,062-seater home against Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

Former Gunners full back Dixon asked his Twitter followers to guess what was in the time capsule at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

He wrote on Twitter: 'Love the fact Tottenham have a time capsule at their new stadium similar to the one at Emirates. Apparently the contents are a secret. What could be in there?'

The caption was followed by a crying laughing emoji and included the tumbleweed GIF.

Fans responded to the post on Wednesday by mocking Arsenal's north London rivals Tottenham.

One Tweet read: 'DVDs of near achievements?' While another reply to Dixon's question was: 'Nothing made of silver, that's all in the cheese room.'

Another fan said: 'Recipe for lasagne,' which refers to when Tottenham missed out on the Champions League to Arsenal in 2006.

While one answer to Dixon's question was: 'Dust from their trophy cabinet'.

Spurs will be desperate to return to winning ways after slipping down to fourth place in the Premier League.
