According to fans online, Cardiff's Cedric Kipre pulled off the 'most blatant handball ever missed by a referee' in their derby match with Swansea.
During the South Wales derby, the French defender leaped into the air - as if to head the ball - but instead held his arm out and blatantly knocked it away with his hand.
Referee Darren Moore missed the incident, meaning Kipre went unpunished for the hilarious error, and now fans have taken to social media to poke fun at the 'Maradona-esque' moment.
Fans began to react as a clip of the first-half incident began circulating Twitter, with one writing: 'Contender for most blatant handball ever missed by a referee in the Swansea v Cardiff game by Kipre'
'Kipre bringing out his prime Maradona #SouthWalesDerby,' another said.
Fans continued to liken the moment to the Argentine's infamous 1986 goal, with one user writing: 'How has Kipre got away with that Maradona-esque handball'.
One user simply posted Kipre's name along with a picture from England's quarter-final clash with Argentina.
Fans continued to chime in with their responses, as one said: 'That Kipre hand ball was phenomenal haha he even got away with it'
Another suggested that Kipre is looking to take Ryan Allsop's position in goal, as they wrote: 'Kipre after the number 1 job'.
In a blunt take, one fan said: 'Just seen Kipre punch a ball clear in the box and have nothing given against him'
The incident occurred shortly after the Bluebirds were reduced to 10 men when Callum Robinson was dismissed for violent conduct. The striker struck out after having a foul given against him.
And shortly after Kipre's blunder, Swansea took the lead in the match through Oliver Cooper after smart play by full-back Luke Cundle. Michael Obafemi later scored a second.
The hilarious mistake drew comparison's with Maradona's infamous 'Hand of God' goal which gave Argentina a 1-0 lead against England in the 1986 World Cup, before they went on to win 2-1.
