Fans have been left surprised after a list of fines at Premier League outfit Chelsea was revealed.

Blues boss Frank Lampard has imposed a strict disciplinary code behind the scenes at the club and there is a list of fines, framed and hung on the wall inside the training ground.

It features a whopping £20,000 penalty for players who are late for training.

Fans have been quick to react on social media to the discipline in place at Stamford Bridge.

One Tweet read: 'Chelsea's dressing room fines sheet. Frank Lampard runs a tight ship.'

Another user on Twitter wrote: 'Chelsea players must have pretty poor discipline if they have to enforce these pretty standard rules with big fines!'

One fan quipped: 'Professional football players live in another world,' while another said: 'These figures are like 50p to them,'

Those rolling in late for team meetings can expect to be fined at a rate of £500 per minute and those not on time for treatment, medical appointments or to board the bus for a match-day departure will be fined £2,500.

One fan responded with: 'Hell of a party post-season coming up,' while another wrote on social media: 'Late to team meetings could be a costly do.'

Sportsmail reported earlier on Tuesday that fines are monitored and collected by Lampard’s coaching staff and doubled if not paid within 14 days with all funds going towards charities and team activities.

One user on Twitter responded with: 'Pocket money for these players'.
