Fenerbahce have joined Crystal Palace in the race to sign Everton outcast Cenk Tosun, according to reports in Turkey.

Tosun is out of favour at Goodison Park and looks likely to head for the exit door in January, although his £110,000-a-week wages may prove to be a sticking point.

Palace have expressed an interest in taking him on loan, but now Fenerbahce are reported to be keen on offering the player a return to Turkey.

Tosun, a Turkey international, left the country for Everton and Fotosport write that the player's father and agent Senol Tosun has held talks with Fenerbahce about completing a short-term deal this month.

They report that the Turkish giants have given assurances that they could afford to pay his wages, and are looking to agree a deal with Everton in the coming weeks.

His former club Besiktas are also interested in bringing him back to his homeland, and separate reports in Turkey state that they have made progress in their pursuit of the striker.

Tosun has only featured eight times for Everton this season, scoring once in the Premier League.

Palace are the front-runners in terms of Premier League interest, just two years after missing out on the player when he joined the Toffees for £27million.

The 28-year-old still has three-and-a-half years left on his Goodison Park deal.
